After Effects

DuME can render and transcode After Effects compositions.

You can either drop an After Effects project in a graph (or select a project from an input file node), or send a composition directly from After Effects using the provided After Effects script.

Send a composition from After Effects

If you’ve installed the After Effects with DuME, you should find a DuME panel in the Windows menu in After Effects.

After Effects and ACEScg

Render to PNG from After Effects

You have to manually set the output color space to sRGB - Display/ACES 1.0 - SDR Video to make sure PNG look like the comp viewer if you’ve set the display space to use the SDR Video transform. It’s not listed by default, you’ll have to check the Show All option to reveal the whole list of color spaces.

If you’ve chosen the un-tone-mapped workflow, just select an sRGB output space.

Render to openEXR from After Effects

By default, AE output EXR using the working space, ACEScg, which is fine.

Transcode ACEScg EXR files with DuME

To output the colors exactly the same as in the comp viewer, we need to tell DuME to use the exact same transform.
